Urban Move Academy (UMA)
UMA – Urban Move Academy (UMA) is a pioneering school dedicated to the teaching of urban arts and sports through a cross-disciplinary and inclusive approach, with a strong focus on stage experience. Launched in Geneva in September 2022, it has benefited from the support of the Montes Alti Foundation since its inception.
Under the direction of choreographer Nicolas Musin, the school is aimed at young people aged 18 to 24, selected not only for their talent but also for their personality, open-mindedness, and ability to engage in diverse creative processes characteristic of 21st-century art, including street and contemporary dance, parkour, BMX and action sports (skateboarding, roller skating, and scootering), as well as video and improvised music.
This initiative not only responds to the urgent need for young people to build their life path, to create and to share, but also seeks to foster the emergence and visibility of urban disciplines by striving for creativity and excellence.
Driven by a collective spirit that forms the strength and vitality of UMA, the school regularly presents its transdisciplinary creations to the public in Geneva, throughout Switzerland, and abroad. In 2025, UMA brought its talents to the international stage with a spectacular performance at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, in collaboration with renowned musicians and contemporary athletes.
