Maths-Passion

Under the impetus of the MAEF Foundation and with the support of the Geneva Association of Private Schools (AGEP), the non-profit Maths-Passion Association has been formed, which is committed to develop interest in mathematics, offering various alternatives during classes.

The course is aimed at about fifteen students from the lower secondary school between from 12 to 15, experiencing the ease but especially the passion for math. The workshops are free and are open to any motivated student from the public as well as from the private school.

The problems exposed, called “opened”, allow to experiment the material and to go further by trying to validate the findings by laws or “original” rules. The workshops are held in small groups. Supervision is provided by Christine del Notaro, Doctor of Education, lecturer in mathematics charged with education in didactics of mathematics at the University of Geneva.
